a cake cutting new year's eve fiesta.

johnny and i had our wedding on Christmas Eve morning.
since cake didn't seem like an appetizing accompaniment to
our brunch reception of french toast and pancakes,
we saved our cake cutting for our new year's eve party.
this is us figuring out how to cut through
our massively layered stack
of cake and fondant pancakes.
"ummm . . . babe, what do we do??"
what a fun way to spend our first new year's as a married couple.
all of our favorites were there to spend the night
celebrating and laughing together.
both of our families and probably over half of our church family!
40 friends over a couple of hours, a game of apples to apples
and a big countdown later,
and we're still up to our elbows in wedding cake.
{and yes, even though we ate it a week after the wedding,
it was still incredibly moist and delicious!}
